It was great fun this morning at the start of our new term. It was a delight to welcome five new families to Maxwell Mini Music and I’m looking forward to seeing them again next week.

I also introduced a new puppet to the Bobblers and Jumplings. Freddie the frog was a big success, especially when he was joined in the excitement of the lycra songs.

I’ve just returned from a fun, productive and inspiring four days on the British Kodaly Academy’s Spring course.  I’m really looking forward to introducing new songs and games when my classes resume on 16th April.

The Monday morning classes are presented in three separate classes enabling me to best meet the needs of the children.  The 10am slot for Jumplings, is  aimed at pre-schoolers aged over 30 months.  Bobblers class for steady walkers aged 18 – 30 month olds starts at 11am and the Babies class  for 4 -18 month olds is at 12 noon. All sessions last about 40-45 minutes and include various musical activities geared specifically to that age group and stage of physical development. The activities include: exercises, action songs, peekaboo games, keeping the beat, tickle songs, instruments, solo singing opportunities and rocking.
