Lockdown Songs – Day 11

Hello!

I hope you’re keeping safe and well.

Today’s video is directed at walking children aged over 18 months (my Bobblers and Jumplings groups plus Reception children) and the actions mirror the pitch of the song. This song also works for babies if the parents can lift and lower the little ones (I do love an impromptu Mummy or Daddy workout).

Day 11 – Welcome, Jack In The Box and Goodbye Everyone

I’m loving receiving your photos and comments and discovering how your children are reacting to and engaging with the videos. Please keep them coming as they’re brightening my days.

A happy and engaged young man!

I hope you enjoy today’s video. The next one will be posted tomorrow and I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

Jimmy, Max and I look forward to more music making with you tomorrow.

Take care.

Max

Lockdown Songs – Day 10

Hello and welcome!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s video. Did you get outside to jump in some puddles? I went out for a walk early this morning and discovered this enormous puddle. What fun!

An enormous puddle! What fun!

This video is aimed at all children from about four months upwards. The second song involves peekaboo, so you’ll need a scarf. Older children might want to take turns in hiding family members or hiding their favourite cuddly toy.

Day 10 – Welcome, Where Is Jimmy? and Goodbye Everyone

I hope you enjoy today’s video. Please keep your comments, photos and videos coming as they brighten up my day. The next video will be posted tomorrow and, as always, I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

Take care.

Jimmy

Lockdown Songs – Day 9

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe.

Puddles

What a change in the weather since the weekend. Today is the perfect weather for jumping in puddles, which is the theme of today’s new song. The video is aimed at walking children but if you have younger children, bounce them on your knee until the ‘jump’: they’ll get to experience the beat and still enjoy the anticipation and joy of jumping.

Day 9 – Welcome, Walking In The Rain and Goodbye Everyone

I hope you enjoy today’s video and get the chance to go outside to jump in some real puddles.

Please keep your comments, photos and videos coming as they will brighten up this rather dull looking day. The next video will be posted tomorrow and, as always, I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

Take care.

Lockdown Songs – Day 8

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe and you managed to get out into the sunshine this weekend.

Today’s video includes a bouncing song. If you have older children and some space, they may prefer to gallop and walk during the second song, rather than sitting on your lap.

Day 8 – Welcome, See The Ponies Galloping and Goodbye Everyone

I’ve received more lovely comments and photos over the last few of days. One of my favourites was: ‘We had our own monkey on hand to join in today! Thank you, these videos are great!’

I hope you enjoy today’s video. Please keep your comments, photos and videos coming as they brighten up my day. The next video will be posted tomorrow and I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

Take care.

Lockdown Songs – Day 7

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe but still making the most of the weather during your exercise time.

Today’s video includes an action song. The little ones will need assistance but the older ones should pick up the actions easily enough. Enjoy.

Day 7 – Welcome, Roly Poly, Roly Poly and Goodbye Everyone

If you’re curious about who I am and the philosophy behind my teaching, please check out my ‘Meet Janey’ and ‘About Kodály’ pages.

I’ll post the next video on Monday. Keep safe and have a good weekend.

Lockdown Songs – Day 6

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe.

Today’s video includes a bouncing song. However, if you have older children and some space, rather than sitting, they may prefer to walk or gallop during the second song.

Day 6 – Welcome, Clip Clop and Goodbye Everyone

I hope you enjoy today’s video. The next one will be posted tomorrow and I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

I’ve received some wonderful comments over the last couple of days. One comment was ‘ the three song structure works really well. Gives structure and always something they will know.’ A recent highlight was receiving some short video clips which the mum has suggested I share here. The children are 20 and 45 months old and are getting familiar with my Goodbye song.

Please keep your comments, photos and videos coming as they’re brightening my days.

Jimmy, Max and I look forward sharing some more songs with you tomorrow.

Take care.

Jimmy

Lockdown Songs – Day 5

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe.

Today’s video is a tickle song. I know how much my son used to love his tickles and there’s nothing quite like a baby or young child’s chuckle. I hope this video brings some laughter into your home at this difficult time.

Day 5 – Welcome, There’s a Spider and Goodbye Everyone

I hope you enjoy today’s video. The next one will be posted tomorrow and I’ll also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

I’m loving receiving your photos and comments and discovering how your children are reacting to and engaging with the videos. Please keep them coming as they’re brightening my days.

Jimmy, Max and I look forward to more music making over the next few days.

Take care.

Lockdown Songs – Day 4

Hello!

Hope you’re keeping safe.

It’s been great to hear your positive reactions to my videos so far. One recent comment from a four year old was, ‘I loved your songs I hope you do another one tomorrow, please do another one tomorrow’. I’m also delighted to say that a child who used to attend my classes is now watching online from her new home in New Jersey.

Today’s video is aimed at children aged two years and older, but younger ones could also participate if the adults do the actions for them. Other possible actions to add could be waving, bouncing, hugging, jumping and stamping.

Day 4 – Welcome, Clap Your Hands and Goodbye Everyone

Hope you enjoy the video and the next one will be posted tomorrow. I’d love to hear how the children are reacting to and engaging with the videos, so please let me know.

Jimmy, Max and I look forward to sharing our music making with you over the next few days. Each day I post videos, I will also post on Instagram (maxwellminimusic) and Twitter (@maxwell_mini) once the new video is on the website.

Take care.

Lockdown Songs – Day 3

Hello!

I hope you’ve had an enjoyable weekend. I’ve had some lovely comments over the last couple of days saying how much you’ve enjoyed the first two videos. My favourite response has been from a fellow music teacher who said her son enjoyed the videos and ‘tapped his knees for the first time whilst watching’ and also sent me this wonderful photo of him.

For today’s video you’ll need a scarf as the video includes a peekaboo song. This video is aimed at all children from four months upwards. In the second song, older children might want to take turns in hiding family members or hide their favourite cuddly toy.

Day 3 – Welcome, Peeketty Boo and Goodbye Everyone

Today, in addition to having Jimmy with me I also have Max the Monkey.

Jimmy and Max

I hope you enjoy this video and the next one will be posted tomorrow. In the meantime, I’d love to hear how the children are reacting to and engaging with the videos so far.

Max, Jimmy and I look forward to sharing our music making with you this week. Keep safe.

Lockdown Songs – Day 2

Hello!

I’ve had a positive response and some lovely comments following on from yesterday’s videos. Comments included one four year old saying ‘That was fun. Have you got another one’ and ‘Our daughter loved doing these today. I think you’ve got your first fan in Sweden!’

Today’s video is aimed at children aged two years and older, but younger ones should also be able to participate with some extra assistance from adults.

Day 2 – Welcome, Four Red Apples and Goodbye Everyone

Hope you enjoy the video and the next one will be posted on Monday. In the meantime, I’d love to hear how the children are reacting to and engaging with the videos so far.

Jimmy and I look forward to sharing our music making with you next week. Keep safe and have an enjoyable weekend.
