After a short break for the half-term holiday, classes will be resuming this Tuesday morning in Bromley.
Early years music should be full of engagement and the opportunity to explore and develop new skills and concepts. In the right hands, your child will learn so much and it will impact all areas of their development. If this is what you want your children to experience, then please do get in touch on: maxwellminimusic@gmail.com or 07762 102732. To book a place click on: https://maxwellminimusic.class4kids.co.uk
The mornings are getting darker and cooler. Must be nearly time to return to school.
I’ve missed my little ones and their lovely adults. I’m looking forward to returning to our face-to-face morning classes on Tuesday 13th September at Bromley Youth Music Trust.
There are still places in both classes. Come and join us. A trial class option is available. Pre-booking is required. The booking link is: https://maxwellminimusic.class4kids.co.uk
I’m excited to be returning to my families tomorrow for more fun and music making in my Kodály-inspired, singing based classes.
In the early years, the most influential teachers are a child’s parents and primary caregivers. Maxwell Mini Music aims to empower these adults with the means and confidence to make music both within classes, but more importantly, throughout the week.
Bobblers
By encouraging communicative musicality, young children and those closest to them, can engage in conversations without words. Parents and carers are encouraged to participate in all classes as this enriches the children’s experience and they become more involved and engaged. Music has the potential to assist in a child’s development, but every child should also have the opportunity to experience the joy in making music with those they love.
Babies class
Janey is keen to join you and your little ones on this important early musical journey. There are still places available in both Tuesday morning classes: 0-18 months (Babies) @ 10:25 and 18 months to 3 years (Bobblers) @ 11:10.
Just before the half term break, we invited Piccolino Photo Studio to our sessions to take some photos. Thank you Francesca for doing such a great job.

One parent recently said: ‘Maxwell Mini Music for my 2 year old has really helped her to be confident and develop socially and vocally after an unprecedented year. The music is fun for little ones and parents to practise at home. A great start for little ones into music. Definitely recommend for every parent’.

What a varied year 2021 has been! I started the year teaching EYFS & KS1 children online, and was relieved when I could return to teaching face-to-face in schools in March. At the start of the year I joined the Early Years team with British Kodály Academy and we have continued teaching online throughout the year. It’s been wonderful to work with Kodály enthusiasts from across the globe. Towards the end of the year I also joined the Kodály teaching team at Junior Guildhall. Throughout this time I have been continuing my Early Years Music Education MA studies with CREC in Birmingham, mostly online, but we did have the excitement of meeting in person in October.
The Maxwell Mini Music lockdown videos were well received during 2020 and continuing into the start of the year and I’m delighted that people are still viewing them. In the Autumn I resumed my in-person classes, in our new venue at Bromley Youth Music Trust. This term has been wonderful with music, new friendships and lots of giggles. It has been a delight to get to know the children and families who have joined us for our first term in our new home. Thank you BYMT for making us feel so welcome.
The first half of the term was great fun and it was wonderful to meet so many lovely young families.

The feedback has been really positive and some families have been kind enough to share their thoughts with me:

‘A great class to be able to bring both my boys (nearly 3 and 13 months) to. They love the songs and actions – especially the peekaboo and tickling songs’.
‘We really enjoyed the classes and learning new songs to sing to the babies. My son really enjoys being sung to so it was great to have dedicated time to do this. Janey is really friendly and kind, and creates a really nice atmosphere in the class’.
