I hope you are ready for some more music making.

Today the focus is on songs containing changes in tempo (speed). I’m moving around during the video, but if you have little ones you could move around with them in your arms. These songs also work well as bouncing songs. It’s quite an energetic video by my standards, so you may be glad of the opportunity to sit down if the words ‘Again! Again!’ are mentioned.

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for some more music making.

Today the focus is on fingerplay and hand action songs which are a great way to work on the fine motor skills. This video is the longest one yet and great for all ages: the older children will enjoy doing the actions themselves and the babies will love you helping them with the actions. The penultimate songs includes tickles so I’m hoping there will be some chuckles at your end.

Day 46 – Welcome, Action Songs and Goodbye Everyone

At this early age, children derive the greatest pleasure and musical benefit when they revisit familiar songs. This week the daily videos will be longer and will have a theme. Today’s video includes four peekaboo songs so you’ll need a scarf or blanket to join in the fun. This video is great for all ages: the little babies will love the element of surprise and the older children will enjoy the anticipation once they get to know the songs. Once the songs are familiar, older children may be keen to take turns in hiding family members or their favourite cuddly toy.
