After a summer filled with fresh air, exercise, reading and loads of music, I’m feeling mentally rejuvenated and refreshed ready for the new term ahead.

It’s been good having a couple of weeks after the British Kodály Academy’s Summer School to process all the wonderful new ideas before the start of the new academic year.  Autumn Term starts on Monday 9th September.  Looking forward to meeting long standing families and friends and greeting new ones to the sessions.

Autumn Term dates 2019

• September 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th
• October 7th, 14th & 21st (No class on 28th)
• November 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
• December 2nd & 9th

Classes

• 4-30 months (Babies & Bobblers)      11:00
• 30-48+ months (Jumplings)                10:00

Charges

• £78 for whole term – £6 per session (Sibling £4 per session pro rata)
• Trial session £6
• Drop-in £9 per session per child – sibling rate 2 children £15

Location

• Classes held in St George’s Church, Beckenham BR3 1AX

I’m currently on the train home after a truly inspirational week at the British Kodaly Academy’s summer school in Nottingham. It’s been my sixth residential course with them and it’s enabled me to further develop my own musicianship (with Bori Szirányi) and provide opportunities to reflect upon and develop my own teaching methods. In addition to this we’ve enjoyed daily sessions of vocal technique, choral workshops, conducting classes and opportunities to play singing games with the wonderful Lucinda Geoghegan. The evenings offered more varied distractions ranging from a ceilidh to a piano masterclass from the amazing Orsolya Szabó. The tutors, drawn from around Britain and Europe, including the Kodály Institute in Hungary, have been on top form  throughout the week. Although physically tired and looking forward to a quiet, early night this evening, I’m feeling mentally rejuvenated and refreshed ready for the new term ahead.

Tomorrow I’m holding two Maxwell Mini Music sessions in St George’s Beckenham: 4-30 months meet at 11am and 30 months+ at 10am.  Then looking ahead, the Autumn Term starts on Monday 9th September.  Looking forward to meeting long standing families and friends and greeting new ones to the sessions.  Places are still available for both tomorrow’s classes and the sessions starting next month.   To book your place ring Janey on 07762 102732 or email  maxwellminimusic@gmail.com
